After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bogan, the Kennedy Crusaders were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They walked away with a 48-41 win over Little Village. The win was all the more spectacular given Kennedy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 594th, while Little Village is ranked 250th).
Kennedy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Vincent Carrero, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Patryk Baliczek was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Kennedy's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Little Village, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.
Kennedy and Woodstock will round out the year against one another at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at. Woodstock will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. Little Village won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Steinmetz College Prep at 4:00 p.m. on December 22nd.
