Mount Pisgah Academy will head out on the road to face off against the Carolina Day Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Mount Pisgah Academy couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 22-21 to Bethel Christian Academy.
Meanwhile, Carolina Day came up short against The Master's Academy on Friday and fell 46-39. While losing is never fun, Carolina Day can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while The Master's Academy is ranked 71st).
Despite the loss, Carolina Day had strong showings from Lily Everette, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds, and Taylor Williams, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Everette scored a full 30.8% of Carolina Day's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Mount Pisgah Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Carolina Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Mount Pisgah Academy ended up a good deal behind Carolina Day in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, losing 40-26. Can Mount Pisgah Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
