The Cortez Colts can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They put the hurt on Coronado with a sharp 67-41 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Cortez has posted since December 20, 2023.
Cortez's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devan Fowler, who scored 23 points along with eight assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ulysses Espinoza, who scored 20 points.
Cortez is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. As for Coronado, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Cortez will be playing in front of their home fans against Vista Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coronado, Coronado and Apache Junction will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Apache Junction is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home.
