Madison Christian extended their winning streak to seven on Saturday, bumping them up to 12-5. They were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over the Harvest Prep Warriors. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Sophia Moore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Chloe Rice and Bella Larocca did most of the damage at the plate: Rice went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Larocca went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those five RBI gave Rice a new career-high. Lexi Wray was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Madison Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in seven consecutive games.
As for Harvest Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10-1 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Harvest Prep's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayleah Cumberlander, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Madison Christian will head out to challenge Northside Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.14 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Harvest Prep, they will square off against Miller at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
