The Manteo Redskins will take on the Pasquotank County Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Manteo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Manteo got the win against Cape Hatteras by a conclusive 15-3. The Redskins haven't had any issues with the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Bailey Dickerson and Calleigh Bush made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Dickerson tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Bush tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, Dickerson posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Dickerson scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Bush scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Bella Huntingford was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Kayla Austin was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Pasquotank County lost 16-5 to Manteo on Tuesday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Emma Bailey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Pasquotank County now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Manteo, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Manteo has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like Pasquotank County struggles in that department as they've averaged .520. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
