On Wednesday, the Ron Brown Monarchs faced the Jackson-Reed Tigers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Ron Brown was dealt a 81-17 defeat at the hands of the Tigers. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ron Brown has scored all season.
Jackson-Reed got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Fort out in front who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcel Lane, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Ron Brown's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Jackson-Reed, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ron Brown will take on the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in District of Columbia (Ballou is ranked 14th, while the Monarchs are ranked 25th). As for Jackson-Reed, they will be playing at home against the Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Coolidge is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
