The Edon Bombers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 68-35 loss at the hands of Antwerp. Edon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-22.
Antwerp had a senior duo take command as Landon Brewer scored 24 points along with six rebounds and five assists and Carson Altimus went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 0 assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Brewer has scored at least a third of Antwerp's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Savina, who scored five points along with two steals.
Edon has not been sharp recently as the team has lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Antwerp, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
Edon will head out on the road to take on Holgate at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Antwerp, they will be playing at home against Tinora at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Antwerp is on a ten-game streak of home wins, Tinora a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
