Basketball Recap: Valor Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Maliqui Van Arsdale and David Quiroa

Valor Academy was the 40-30 winner over Magnolia Science Academy Reseda when they last played one another on January 13th, but their luck changed this time around. Valor Academy fell to the Magnolia Science Academy Reseda Warriors 48-42. Valor Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Valor Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of David Quiroa, who posted nine points and six steals, and Maliqui Van Arsdale, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Van Arsdale is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played. Maliqq Van Arsdale was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Valor Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Magnolia Science Academy Reseda, they moved to 2-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Valor Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Discovery at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Magnolia Science Academy Reseda, they are taking a road trip to face off against Alliance Marine-Innovation & Technology at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Alliance Marine-Innovation & Technology will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Magnolia Science Academy Reseda surely won't give up without a fight.
