Jena had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They blew past the Downsville Demons 16-1. The Giants might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven  runs or more this season.
 Calex Campbell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Those  zero  hits allowed gave  him a new career-low. He was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Brayden Oakes and  Jonas Jenkins did most of the damage at the plate:  Oakes  scored three  runs and  stole  Five bases. while  getting on base  in both of his plate appearances, while  Jenkins  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with four  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. That's the most  stolen bases  Oakes has posted since back in April of 2024.  Daniel Hatcher also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
 Jena was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .600. They are 7-1 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Jena pushed their record up to 11-6 with the  victory, which was their seventh straight  at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Downsville,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 6-6.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jena will take on Converse at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Converse will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  win, something Jena surely won't give up without a fight. As for Downsville, they are taking a road trip to  face off against Rayville  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday.
