The Grand County Red Devils posted their biggest victory since November 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Monticello 72-44 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-14.
Grand County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Wyatt Toney out in front who scored ten points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Berry, who scored 14 points.
Grand County's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Monticello, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grand County will take on San Juan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully San Juan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Saturday. As for Monticello, they will be playing at home against Monument Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Monument Valley is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
