It was a good run, but the Hershey Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They were beaten by Bridgeport 68-27. Hershey has not had much luck with Bridgeport recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Leading Bridgeport to victory were Ella Schluterbusch and Olivia Loomis-goltl. Schluterbusch scored 21 points along with four steals, while Loomis-goltl dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Loomis-goltl is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Grace Dean, who scored 12 points.
Hershey's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Bridgeport, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Hershey will head out on the road to square off against Bridgeport at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bridgeport knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Hershey likes a good challenge. As for Bridgeport, they will be playing at home against Hershey at 6:00 p.m. Hershey will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Bridgeport is ranked 16th).
