New Trier dropped their record down to 19-6-1 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Maine South Hawks, falling 10-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Trevians, who until this matchup were averaging 3.88 runs allowed.

New Trier saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caiden Carpenter, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Maine South, they now have a winning record of 14-13. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the game before.

On Maine South's side, Nate Cera was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alex Vale, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.

While New Trier had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
