Garden Valley extended the longest winning streak in 1A Long Pin (8 Man) this week by beating Cascade, 49-14. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Wolverines.
Wilder took down Tri-Valley 70-20 last week, the largest margin of any game. ALFONSO CASTELLANOS threw for 90 yards and one touchdown, ran for 186 yards and caught one passes for 69 yards in the win.
Garden Valley's dynamic duo of Kavik Fairburn and Lance Jones proved tough for the Ramblers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fairburn threw for 184 yards and one touchdown and Jones had 140 yards receiving. Jono Lawler helped Garden Valley's passing attack out by catching two balls for 84 yards.
Lawler made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Wolverines topped Cascade. The senior forced one fumble, recorded one fumble and racked up 1.0 sack.
5-foot-7 quarterback CASTELLANOS of the Wildcats is the league leader in passing yards this season with 697. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, Council's Nate Henderson has rushed for 1038 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jones. The Garden Valley star has 29 catches for 472 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Garden Valley and Wilder. The Wolverines enters the contest ranked 16th in the state, while Kyle Dalsoglio's team ranks 20th.
Two of the top units in 1A Long Pin (8 Man) will face off this week when the Wildcats take on Garden Valley. Wilder's offense has racked up 269 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Wolverines have allowed only 72 on the year.

Horseshoe Bend made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 910 from 1,001. The advance stemmed from a 46-0 victory over the Mustangs last week.
