Baseball Recap: Mogadore Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Mogadore unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 11-1 to the John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in April.

Cole Reese was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits.

At the plate, Mogadore saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Hopkins, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Mogadore's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Mogadore will host Chippewa at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Chipps will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, they have already played their next game, a 13-6 defeat against Cardinal Mooney on the 16th.
