Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Westchester Comets, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a hard 23-6 fall against Lincoln on Friday. Westchester's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it four in a row.
Jayden Hightower threw for 77 yards on seven of 19 attempts. Amir Rogers was his top target, picking up 52 receiving yards. On the ground, Landon Davis rushed for 104 yards.
Kenneth Brown was his usual excellent self, rushing for 144 yards and a touchdown. Lincoln also got help from Joshua Sosa who showed off his sure hands for 90 receiving yards.
Westchester has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Westchester does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lincoln will head out on the road to face off against Chatsworth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Isaiah Rameau and Brown.
