The Eagle Valley Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 35-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Durango. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Eagle Valley in their matchups with Durango: they've now lost three in a row.
Alondra Ruiz was Eagle Valley's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Addison Mandeville held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Lilly Fitzpatrick was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 13 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Katelynn Sheppard was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Eagle Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Durango, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Eagle Valley will be playing at home against Grand Junction at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Grand Junction focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday. As for Durango, they will head out on the road to square off against Grand Junction Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Grand Junction Central is ranked 107th, while Durango is ranked 95th).
