The Fletcher Falcons suffered their biggest defeat since November 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 56-36 loss at the hands of Lee Park Prep. While losing is never fun, Fletcher can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 555th, while Lee Park Prep is ranked 241st).
Leading Lee Park Prep to victory were Viviana Nigro and Brinley Parker. Nigro scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Parker scored 15 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parker has scored all season. Baylor Currie was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds.
Fletcher's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.5 points per game. As for Lee Park Prep, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fletcher will take on Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lee Park Prep, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Jackson Day at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Jackson Day is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
