It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the St. Augustine Saints had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 32-17 victory over La Costa Canyon. The win was familiar territory for St. Augustine who now have four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Augustine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Parker Johnson, who rushed for 17 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 70 receiving yards. Isaiah Hasten did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 103 receiving yards.
St. Augustine has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for La Costa Canyon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
St. Augustine will square off against Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Madison and St. Augustine are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. La Costa Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
