The Clarkrange Buffaloes will head out on the road to square off against the Gordonsville Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Clarkrange is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
Clarkrange pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their rough 82-61 defeat to Stone Memorial might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Clarkrange can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Stone Memorial is ranked 59th).
The losing side was boosted by Jack Cordell, who scored 28 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristopher Beaty, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Gordonsville pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-62 to Pickett County.
Clarkrange has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season. As for Gordonsville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Clarkrange came up short against Gordonsville when the teams last played back in January, falling 71-63. Can Clarkrange avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
