Wingfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ni' Juenna Lacy led the charge by scoring 16 points. Kimiria Williams was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Wingfield's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 1-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.3 points per game. As for Warren Central, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Wingfield will head out on the road to face off against Oak Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Grove presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wingfield in Mississippi (Oak Grove is ranked 92nd, while Wingfield is ranked 261st). As for Warren Central, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m.
