Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Grant Lawless and Jaxon Dollar Lead East Lincoln to Victory

East Lincoln won the last time they faced Bandys and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 56-34 victory. With the Mustangs ahead 35-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Leading East Lincoln to victory were Jaxon Dollar and Grant Lawless. Dollar picked up 241 receiving yards and four TDs, while Lawless threw for 421 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 15.6 yards per attempt. With that strong performance, Dollar is now averaging an impressive 117 receiving yards per game. Davis Beam was another key player, picking up 87 receiving yards and one score.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to East Lincoln's defensive line and their 4.5 sacks. In that department, Kaleb Lauffer was the leader with two. He is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Bandys lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brady Swett, who threw for 354 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 34 yards and a pair of TDs. Bandys' leading receiver Ryder McClure was Swett's top target yet again, picking up 195 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

East Lincoln's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 55.0 points this season. As for Bandys, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

East Lincoln wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 49-0 win against North Lincoln on the 19th. As for Bandys, they have also already played their next game, a 41-12 victory against Bunker Hill on the 19th.
