Even though Southwest Christian School scored an imposing 62 points on December 12th, Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes still came out on top. Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes skirted past Southwest Christian School 64-62. The victory was all the more spectacular given Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Southwest Christian School is ranked 134th).
Meanwhile, iSchool of Lewisville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to R.W. Goines Stem Academy 61-57. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (55), iSchool of Lewisville still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, iSchool of Lewisville got a solid performance out of David Iweze, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. The contest was Iweze's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Frankie Chiakpo, who scored ten points.
Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for iSchool of Lewisville, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes was dealt a bruising 101-68 loss at the hands of iSchool of Lewisville in their previous meeting back in January of 2021. Can Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
