Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Morgan Carter, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals. Gracie Peschel was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
Kelly Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madisyn Cotten, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds. Cotten has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sydney Doctor, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Fort Bend Christian Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Kelly Catholic, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-16.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing St. John XXIII the next time they take the court. Fort Bend Christian Academy will head out to face St. John XXIII at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Kelly Catholic will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
