Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Wake Prep Academy Guardians, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 50-0 loss at the hands of North Wake S on Friday. Wake Prep Academy's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Leading North Wake S to victory were Jordan Reid and Sema'J Davis. Reid rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, while Davis gained 146 total yards and three touchdowns. Reid is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played.
North Wake S's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 9.5 times. The heavy lifting was done by Tre Mcintyre and Avery Hall who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.
Wake Prep Academy's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 2-7. As for North Wake S, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
Wake Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Wake S will look to defend their home field on Friday against South Wake at 7:00 p.m.
