The Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes will be playing at home against the Front Range Christian Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bishop Machebeuf has 13 straight victories, the Falcons have 14 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Bishop Machebeuf gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They breezed by Denver Jewish Day at home to the tune of 72-37. Bishop Machebeuf pushed the score to 56-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers had little chance of recovering from.
It was another big night for Miles Edgar-Parchman, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Kibre Sibhat, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 99-27, which was the final score in Front Range Christian's tilt against the Thunder on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Front Range Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Thunder are ranked 87th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ethan Martin, who scored 11 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that he grabbed two or more steals. Haedan Morton was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Bishop Machebeuf's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.1 points. As for Front Range Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Bishop Machebeuf hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 74.4 points per game. It's a different story for Front Range Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 34.7 points per game. The only thing between Bishop Machebeuf and another offensive beatdown is the Falcons. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Bishop Machebeuf was able to grind out a solid win over the Falcons in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 85-76. Does Bishop Machebeuf have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
