The Villa Rica Wildcats lost against the Douglas County Tigers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Villa Rica fell 57-48 to Douglas County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Villa Rica has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Douglas County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Richards, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khalid Racine, who scored seven points.
Villa Rica bumped their record down to 6-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Douglas County, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Villa Rica's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Mays at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Mays knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Villa Rica likes a good challenge. As for Douglas County, they will head out on the road to challenge East Paulding at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. East Paulding will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Douglas County is ranked 130th).
