This season hasn't been kind to the Mead Raiders, who are still winless after their 13th matchup. They took a serious blow against Fort Calhoun on Thursday, falling 70-19. Mead was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-7.
They used a three-pronged attack on offense:
Eva Georgoulopoulos,
Brenna Schulz, and
Taylar Shull posted four points each.
Mead's loss was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-13. As for Fort Calhoun, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mead won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lyons-Decatur Northeast on January 19th. Hopefully Lyons-Decatur Northeast focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 two weeks ago. As for Fort Calhoun, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Douglas County West at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
