The Clarkdale Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 72-47 loss at the hands of Southeast Lauderdale. While losing is never fun, Clarkdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Southeast Lauderdale is ranked 100th).
Clarkdale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Mcdill, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lane Creel, who scored 11 points.
Clarkdale bumped their record down to 9-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Southeast Lauderdale, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clarkdale will take on Scott Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Scott Central will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Southeast Lauderdale, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on McLaurin at 7:15 p.m. on January 23rd.
