In what's become a running theme this season, the Grimsley Whirlies gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Western Guilford 70-39 on the road. Given Grimsley's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Western Guilford is ranked 509th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Richard Goods was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last 17 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nick Keith, who scored 15 points along with five assists and four steals.
Grimsley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Western Guilford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.
Grimsley will head out on the road to square off against Page at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Grimsley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 games -- so hopefully Page likes a good challenge. As for Western Guilford, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Northern Guilford at 7:45 p.m. Northern Guilford has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 257 points over their last four games.
