Bruceville-Eddy and Rosebud-Lott are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Bruceville-Eddy Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Rosebud-Lott Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Last Friday, Bruceville-Eddy came up short against Crawford and fell 37-24. Bruceville-Eddy has struggled against Crawford recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Bruceville-Eddy saw an underclassman step up: Kambrie Diaz scored 13 points along with two blocks. Diaz has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Rodriguez, who scored six points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Rosebud-Lott beat Moody 40-27 on Friday.
Bruceville-Eddy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-16 record this season. As for Rosebud-Lott, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Bruceville-Eddy and Rosebud-Lott were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but Bruceville-Eddy came up empty-handed after a 44-43 loss. Can Bruceville-Eddy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
