The Bowsher BlueRacers will head out on the road to face off against the Southview Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Bowsher is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, Bowsher came up short against Oak Harbor and fell 37-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bowsher has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Southview's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They took a 35-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Scott.
Despite the loss, Southview saw an underclassman step up: Lacie Filas scored 12 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Dorn, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Southview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Bowsher has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Southview, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.
Bowsher lost to Southview on the road by a decisive 50-32 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2020. Can Bowsher avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
