Prosper and Little Elm are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Prosper Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Little Elm Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Prosper has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 71-42 win over Boyd on the road. Given Prosper's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Boyd is ranked 214th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Guyer scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, Little Elm still came out on top. Little Elm took their contest against Guyer 67-56. 67 seems to be a good number for Little Elm as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Little Elm's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amina Diallo, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Raniyah Hunt, who scored 19 points along with three steals.
Prosper's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Little Elm, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-4.
Prosper was taken down by Little Elm 68-40 in their previous meeting back in January. Thankfully for Prosper, Amarachi Kimpson (who scored 15 points along with five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
