Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Claiborne). They claimed a resounding 79-45 win over the Washburn Pirates. With the Bulldogs ahead 41-14 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Despite the defeat, Washburn saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dillon Mullins went 9 of 12 en route to 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mullins has scored all season. Matthew Harville was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 10 points.

With the victory, Claiborne broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-9. As for Washburn, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Claiborne and Greeneville will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Washburn has already played their next contest (against Cosby), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
