York-Adams III recap Oct. 16, 2012
Bermudian Springs extended the longest winning streak in York-Adams III this week by beating Fairfield, 41-7. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Eagles.
Littlestown moved up to 350 from 381 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Thunderbolts were able to make the jump by besting York County Tech 46-14.
Littlestown's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dustin Crouse threw for 211 and three touchdowns and Todd Cook had 59 yards receiving. On the ground Ryan Rickell chipped in 127 yards. Garrett Trout helped Littlestown's passing attack out by catching three balls for 57 yards.
York Catholic's James Dougherty and Aaron O'Brien have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Dougherty has thrown for 1817 yards this season, while O'Brien, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 19 catches for 465 yards. Calvin Savary from the Spartans leads the league in rushing with 1047 yards.
Entering into this week's contest against Eastern York, Dougherty is short just 183 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
A big matchup in York-Adams III this week will be when York Suburban takes on Mike Lippy's team. At the moment, the Trojans are in third, while the Thunderbolts are in fourth.
Littlestown made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,000 from 8,565. The improvement was the result of 46-14 victory over York County Tech last week.
