West York Area not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 10th. Everything went their way against the Dover Eagles as they made off with an 11-1 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Maddie McGlynn was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Leah Harlacher was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Skimski, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
West York Area's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Dover, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West York Area will venture away from home to face off against York Suburban at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Dover, they will head out on the road to take on Eastern York at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
