High Desert recap November 5, 2013
Kern Valley added to the longest winning streak in High Desert this week by beating Bishop, 37-21. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Broncs.
California City took down Albert Einstein Academy 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Kern Valley's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dalton Gallis threw for 337 and 3 touchdowns and Zach Bushling had 132 yards receiving. On the ground Gallis contributed 136 yards. Cody Little helped Kern Valley's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 93 yards.
Gallis was the best running back in the league this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 136 yards as Ben Goffinet and Brandon Deckard's team bested the Broncos. Bushling also contributed to the rushing game with 22 yards on the ground.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Broncs' Gallis and Little have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Gallis has thrown for 1,870 yards this season, while Little has 32 catches for 661 yards. Dustin Wassdorp from Bishop leads the league in rushing with 1,067 yards.
Riley Daniels of the Frazier Mountain is just 14 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Daniels has rushed for 986 yards on 137 carries so far this year.
Kern Valley's Gallis is within 130 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Desert.
At the moment, the Falcons are in second, while California City is in fourth.
Frazier Mountain and Rosamond played the closest game in High Desert this week, with Frazier Mountain eventually emerging with a 34-33 victory. Daniels ran for 137 yards during the win.
