Ichabod Crane's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Mohonasen with a sharp 11-0 victory. The Riders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk came out on top against Voorheesville on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Ravens were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Blackbirds. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Ravens' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Dom Labella was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 14 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last ten games.
In other batting news, Gavin Lochner was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Latter, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Voorheesville struck out 15 times.
Ichabod Crane pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Everything went Ichabod Crane's way against Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk when the teams last played last Wednesday, as Ichabod Crane made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Riders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
