The Pawnee City Indians will be staying on the road  on Thursday to face off against the Palmyra Panthers on February 8th. Pawnee City will be strutting in after a  victory while Palmyra will be coming in after a  loss.
 Pawnee City was handed a 30-point  defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Sterling on Friday. Pawnee City narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past Sterling  41-38. The  victory was just what Pawnee City needed coming off of a  49-19 defeat in their prior  game.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pawnee City to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Emalyse Gottula, who  scored 13 points along with six  rebounds and five  assists.  Neveah Blecha was another key contributor,  scoring ten points along with two  steals.
 Meanwhile, Palmyra was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap  on Saturday as they fell  39-34 to Weeping Water. It was the first time  this season that Palmyra let down their fans at home.
 Pawnee City's victory bumped their record up to 2-15. As for Palmyra, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost three of their last four contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.
 Pawnee City was taken down by Palmyra 64-25 in their previous meeting  back in February of 2023. Can Pawnee City avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
