Amite County is 0-10 against South Pike since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Amite County Trojans' road trip will continue as they head out to face the South Pike Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Amite County came up short against McComb and fell 55-43. While losing is never fun, Amite County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while McComb is ranked 126th).
Meanwhile, South Pike had to suffer through a rough 66-26 loss at the hands of Brookhaven. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South Pike has scored all season.
Amite County bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for South Pike, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.
Amite County couldn't quite finish off South Pike in their previous matchup back in November and fell 43-40. Can Amite County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
