Wilkinson County Christian (Woodville, Miss.) captured the lead on a
Taylor Prevost touchdown run with 1:00 to go in the fourth quarter to beat
Heidelberg Academy (Heidelberg, Miss.) 16-6 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run, the Rebels went into halftime with a 6-3 lead. The Rams took the lead for good with a touchdown run by Prevost in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring zero points in the third, Wilkinson County Christian still trailed by 3 points going into the fourth quarter. But 13 points in the fourth helped WCC pull out the victory.
Prevost played well for the Woodville school in the victory. The senior quarterback ran for one touchdown and kicked one extra point.
Heidelberg Academy's lone touchdown came on a 3-yard run in the second quarter.
The Rams went into the matchup giving up only 11.8 points per game.
A 48-0 Wilkinson County Christian victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
With the win WCC extended its winning streak to three games.
Heidelberg Academy (0-5) will play a non-conference game against Wayne Academy next week, while Wilkinson County Christian (5-1) will take on Union Christian Academy in a MAIS A District 3 game.
