The Lincolnwood Lancers managed to keep up with the Hillsboro Hiltoppers until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Lincolnwood was outmatched by the Hiltoppers at home and fell 52-25. Lincolnwood has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Hillsboro to victory were Ella Greenwood and Aubrey Evans. Greenwood scored 17 points, while Evans dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Evans hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Amya Greenwood, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Lincolnwood dropped their record down to 8-19 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.7 points per game. As for Hillsboro, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-15.
Lincolnwood won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Rams at 7:15 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Ramsey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Monday. As for Hillsboro, they will be playing at home against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
