Windward's Charles Dawson recorded the longest rushing play in Alpha this season in his game against Marshall last week. Dawson scampered for 78 yards on the play and finished with 127 on the day as his team bested the Eagles.
Viewpoint moved up to 664 from 692 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Patriots were able to make the jump by falling to Sierra Canyon 45-20.
Andre Nunez and Xavier Menifield gave the Trailblazers a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Nunez threw for 227 yards and two touchdowns, while Menifield ran for 155 yards. Brian Tucker also contributed to the rushing game with 25 yards on the ground.
Noah Doneen was the best wideout in the league this week as Viewpoint fell to Sierra Canyon. Doneen tallied six receptions for 88 yards. Adam Markun helped Viewpoint's passing attack out by catching two balls for 38 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Nunez and Menifield Jon Ellinghouse's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Nunez leads the league in passing with 1200 yards, while Menifield has rushed for 881 yards this season. Brentwood School's Garrett Swanky leads the league in receiving yards with 477 on 31 catches.
A big matchup in Alpha this week will be when the Eagles take on Paraclete. At the moment, Brentwood School is in third, while the Spirits are in second.
The Trailblazers extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Chris Adamson's team, 45-20. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
