Blazer is 10-0 against Fairview since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Blazer Tomcats will head out on the road to face off against the Fairview Eagles at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Blazer has three straight wins, Fairview has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Blazer scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Pikeville with a sharp 72-47 victory. Given Blazer's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Pikeville is ranked 163rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Zander Carter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that he grabbed two or more steals. Tyson Lalonde was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, Fairview pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lawrence County.
Blazer's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Fairview, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-5.
Everything went Blazer's way against Fairview when the teams last played back in January as Blazer made off with a 77-55 win. Does Blazer have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fairview turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
