Yuba City is 1-9 against the Tigers since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Yuba City Honkers will head out on the road to take on the Inderkum Tigers at 7:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Yuba City has struggled recently with ten losses in a row, while the Tigers will arrive with five straight wins.
Yuba City pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-62 to Antelope. While losing is never fun, Yuba City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 749th, while the Titans are ranked 305th).
Despite the defeat, Yuba City got a solid performance out of Alex Saavedra, who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Saavedra has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Saleem Rafiq, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Yuba City struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Antelope pulled down ten offensive rebounds.
Meanwhile, Inderkum earned a 62-53 win over the Timberwolves on Tuesday.
Yuba City's defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Inderkum, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Yuba City was dealt a bruising 96-60 defeat at the hands of the Tigers when the teams last played back in January. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Yuba City was down 41-19.
