Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Canton). They claimed a resounding 71-39 win over the Gentry Rams. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Rams are ranked 145th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Canton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for Gentry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Canton has already played their next contest, a 68-58 victory against South Jones on the 21st. As for Gentry, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Yazoo City at 8:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
