Western is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Kell. The Western Wildcats secured a 62-57 W over the Kell Longhorns. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Western's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddox Fowles, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Fowles is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games he's played. Stefan Frisby was another key player, putting up 14 points along with eight assists and five boards.

Western's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Kell, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.

Western and Jefferson will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Jefferson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Kell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alexander at 8:00 p.m. on December 27th. Kell knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Alexander likes a good challenge.
