The Coastal HomeSchool Hurricanes will take on the South Wake Sabres in a tournament on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two weeks ago, Coastal HomeSchool was able to grind out a solid win over Brunswick Christian Academy, taking the game 48-36. The victory continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Annabel Sanchez was the offensive standout of the matchup as she posted ten points and four steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Abbie Litchfield, who earned eight points.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only South Wake walked away with it. They secured a 38-32 W over the Cougars on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Sabres sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Coastal HomeSchool better keep an eye on Rebekah Hartzell. She was instrumental in South Wake's win, going 5-for-10 en route to 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Crissman, who had nine points and five boards.
South Wake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive games.
South Wake's record is now 30-2. As for Coastal HomeSchool, they pushed their record up to 11-18 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Coastal HomeSchool has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 33.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like South Wake struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Coastal HomeSchool took a serious blow against South Wake in their previous meeting back in March of 2021, falling 71-37. Can Coastal HomeSchool avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
