O'Fallon has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Collinsville Kahoks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. O'Fallon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Collinsville likes a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, O'Fallon earned a 61-51 win over Mascoutah. Given O'Fallon's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Mascoutah is ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Collinsville put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Granite City by a score of 67-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Zach Chambers was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jamorie Wysinger, who scored 15 points.
O'Fallon's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Collinsville, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
O'Fallon came up short against Collinsville in their previous matchup back in February, falling 58-51. Thankfully for O'Fallon, Jake Wilkinson (who scored 22 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
