Softball Recap: Marist's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Marist can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past the Valley Catholic Valiants 13-6. The Spartans not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th.

Bridget Stephenson and Finley Schweigert did most of the damage at the plate: Stephenson went 3-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base, while Schweigert went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those triples marked the first that Stephenson hit this season. Sydney Hoffstot was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Marist was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Marist picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 4-5. As for Valley Catholic, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Marist will challenge McKay at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Valley Catholic, they will take on Rainier at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be the Valiants' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
