Sun Valley and Watauga squared off in some playoff action  on Thursday, but Sun Valley had to settle for second. They came up short against  the Pioneers, falling  3-0.  Blair Simpson paced Sun Valley's offense, picking up 11 kills. Simpson got some help from  Riley Parker and her 20 assists. Finally,  Parker was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.
 Leading Watauga to victory were  Caroline Childers and  Lilli Combs.  Childers  had 16  digs and two assists, while  Combs  had nine  digs. Childers has been hot for a while, having  posted 11 or more  digs the last 32 times she's  played.
Sun Valley dropped their record down to 20-14 with the  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road. As for Watauga, the  win (which was their 25th in a row) raised their record to 25-1.
 Sun Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Watauga, they have already played their next match,  a  3-0  victory against North Iredell on the 25th.
